Dr. Laurie Capogna, OD
Dr. Laurie Capogna graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1998. She has been in association with Dr. Taylor since 1998 with an interest in refractive surgery. Dr. Capogna was a founding optometrist in the Niagara Falls clinic and has remained actively involved in the center since that time. She is a senior optometrist in the refractive field and has been a managing optometric director of the Niagara Falls clinic since 2000. In addition to working at LASIK PROVISION, she is an active partner at Peninsula Eye Associates where she maintains a research interest in the surgical and non-surgical correction of refractive eye disease. Dr. Capogna provides full spectrum family optometric eye care. Dr. Capogna is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Christian Nanini, OD
Dr. Christian Nanini graduated from the University of Montreal. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997. He resided in Ottawa practicing with cornea and anterior segment ophthalmologists until 2000 at which time he relocated to the Niagara Peninsula. Dr. Nanini has worked with Dr. Taylor providing co-management optometric services since 2000. Dr. Nanini has a subspecialty interest in anterior segment refractive surgery. He mentors his fellow optometrists in refractive surgery, lectures frequently on the subject and co-chairs the refractive surgery lecture segment at Brock University. Dr. Nanini has a private practice in Welland, Ontario where he practices primary care optometry. He is fluent in English and French. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, Association des Optometristes du Quebec, the College of Optometrists of Ontario, and the Niagara Society of Optometry. He is a board exam assessor for the Canadian Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Barbara Pelletier, OD
Dr. Barbara Pelletier graduated from the University of Montreal. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1998. In the first years of her career, Dr. Pelletier worked in Ottawa in association with local ophthalmologists and optometrists providing co-management services for cataract patients. She moved to the Niagara Peninsula in 2000 when she began to work with Dr. Taylor at Lasik Vision. In addition, she maintains a private optometric office in Niagara Falls where she practices comprehensive optometry. Dr. Pelletier has a research interest in corneal physiology and is a noted academic speaker on the subject of corneal endothelial pathology. She has presented at several major scientific symposia including the Academy of Optometry. Dr. Pelletier is fluent in English and French She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, Association des Optometristes du Quebec, the College of Optometrists of Ontario, and the Niagara Society of Optometry. Dr. Pelletier is a board exam assessor for the Canadian Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Janine Robichaud, OD
Dr. Janine Robichaud has extensive experience in academic research and clinical refractive surgery. Dr. Robichaud graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada with her Doctor of Optometry degree in June 2004. She has been in association with Dr. Taylor in the Niagara Falls clinic and at Peninsula Eye Associates since that time. She graduated with distinction, winning several awards in ocular pharmacology and pathology, as well as the College of Optometrist’s Gold Medal in Optometry for highest academic standing. Having completed a Master of Science in the field of Microbiology and Immunology, Dr. Robichaud has applied her research background in vision science in the field of myopia progression. In addition, she acts as the professional liaison officer between LASIK PROVISION and co-managing doctors. Dr. Robichaud lectures frequently on Lasik surgery and is currently the co-chair of the refractive surgery lecture series at Brock University. She is fluent in English and French. Dr. Robichaud is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
